Default Conflagration+Conjure Flame

I'm thinking of trying something like this:

[build prof=Range/Eleme Expertise=5+1 Wildern=11+1+2 Marksm=8+1 Firemagic=9][Incendiary Arrows][Distracting Shot][Ignite Arrows][Conjure flame][Conflagration][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor][Troll Unguent][Resurrection Signet][/build]

But am unsure if, when using a Zealous Bow, Conflgration will trigger Conjure Flame for the extra damage (I haven't gotten the skills yet to test this myself).

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Pretty sure it'll work just fine.

I guess it'll work, wondering why you got [storm chaser] in there though...

Yes it should work, I used close to same idea to trigger [spinal shivers] with [winter], and also
on derv [avatar of grenth] triggers [conjure frost]
the only thing you have to look for is if the skill says makes attacks, or makes all elemental damage. in this case it says all your arrows so your set on that.

I'm not sure if it will work because conjure flame says, "while wielding a fire weapon." Conflageration only turns your arrows damage from piercing to fire.

... so his arrows hit as fire damage, and Conjure Flame adds additional damage. It works.

Arrows get turned to Fire damage, which is the real trigger for Conjure Flame. It's the same principle for why other classes can use physical attacks and Conjure Flame when [[Greater Conflagration] is in place.

It works, according to wiki. See notes.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Conflagration

Also, check concise description of [[Conflagration] and [[Kindle Arrows], and you'll find similar language.

Edit: tested, screen shot below.

Ok, thanks for the awnsers guys.

One more question. Does Ignite Arrows count as +damage or is that what damage all my arrows will do as base damage and be subject to armour reduction? Is it worth taking within this specific build setup? Or should I look at something like [Kindle Arrows] or [Apply Poison] as a preparation instead?

[[Ignite Arrows] is a separate damage packet, and it is affected by armor. It does not add bonus damage to your bow.

edit: Just saw you have [[Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] in the build. That skill will add armor-ignoring bonus damage to the splash damage from [[Ignite Arrows].

Nor does [[Ignite Arrows] make your Bow deal Fire damage. The separate damage packet is Fire Damage, your arrows deal their normal damage type (Piercing, which is Physical).

[[Kindle [email protected]] will both change your arrow damage to Fire damage and hit for bonus damage. Use this and drop [[[email protected]] for [[Savage [email protected]] or [[Sloth Hunter's Shot (PvE)@9].

So does this mean all my arrows will do 17 base damage that is affected by armour, with the other damage from other skills stacking as bonus damage? Right?

Thanks for the info.

As the previous poster said Ebon Battle Standard of Honor affects the AOE of Ignite aswell, which would benefit me more in this case?

Sort of. [[Ignite Arrows] deals the damage, not your arrows. [[Ignite Arrows] triggers a separate damage packet when you attack with your bow, for every arrow. Think of it like [[Splinter Weapon (PvE)], but fire damage, which is of course affected by armor. Because it is fire damage, however, EBSoH will add bonus damage to [[Ignite Arrows], while [[Splinter Weapon (PvE)], which ignores armor, is not increased by the ward.

Will the damage packet from [[Ignite [email protected]] cause scatter due to AoE? If so, go with [[Kindle [email protected]], if not, use Ignite.

I was suggesting Kindle mainly for the fact that it changes your arrows dmg type to Fire while adding bonus damage, which would let you drop Conflagration for a 2nd interrupt (Savage Shot) or Attack Skill (Sloth Hunter's).

In the end, it's up to you to decide what is best for what you need your build to do. Hope it helps.

Even if conflagration did not have 60s recharge (which it does) you would have to drop it in front of every single mob, which would be incredibly boring.

So your suggesting to switch it up a little more like this?

[build prof=Range/Eleme Expertise=5+1 Wildern=11+1+2 Marksm=8+1 Firemagic=9][Incendiary Arrows][Distracting Shot][Savage Shot][Kindle Arrows][Conjure Flame][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor][Troll Unguent][Resurrection Signet][/build]

This would give me +52 damage on top of my base damage? Or is Kindle Arrows affected by armour also?

Kindle Arrows is affected by armor. Conjure Flame deals bonus fire damage that ignores armor. EBSoH also ignores armor.
